Sean Connery threatens Spanish judge with legal action over his Marbella corruption case: "UK ambassador in Spain, Giles Paxman, has sent a letter to the Judge of Court of Instruction No. 1 of Marbella, Ricardo Puyol, in which the Scottish actor Sean Connery is threatening to take legal action over the ' Goldfinger ' case, a real life plot in which a real estate transaction under investigation is allegedly linked to the actor and his wife.
In the letter, dated September 20 and seen by Europa Press, the British Ambassador addressed the judge directly, warning that Connery has said that 'the mere public disclosure of these alleged criminal proceedings not only affects my public image but also causes significant financial harm, obvious and quantifiable, and therefore I reserve the right to file a lawsuit against those responsible.
