Esperanza Aguirre misses Afternoon Tea with the Tories: "Partido Popular President of the Madrid region, Esperanza Aguirre, failed to show up today for a meeting with Young Conservatives in London.
The invitations were headed ‘Afternoon tea with President Aguirre’ at the Carlton Club, one of the most prestigious in London and the event had been sponsored by the Ambulance Drivers and organised by the Bow Group.
Aguirre justified her absence by saying that last minute agenda problems had arisen as a last minute meeting with members from the British Ministry for Education had been arranged.
During Tuesday morning Aguirre met with the Communities Minister, Eric Pickles and with the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson."
