WOMAN who appealed against a one year prison sentence after pretending to be a millionaire with financial problems has lost her fight for freedom.
The accused tricked a Marbella hotel worker out of €34,000 after promising to employ her as a personal assistant.
The accused stayed in the hotel with her husband for several months between 2006 and 2007 and pretending to be wealthy and even showing the victim what she claimed was expensive jewellery
However, she told the victim that she was having cash flow problems and asked to lend €24,000, promising to repay her once she had received an expected transfer.
The victim began working as her personal assistant and after further lies, also handed over an additional €10,000.
She never heard anything more about the loan and was also paid only once during seven months while working for the accused.
Earlier this year, the accused was jailed but appealed against sentence, but the appeal was overturned by the Malaga Provincial Court this week.
She will also have to pay back the €34,000 she owes.
