Prostitution ring broken up in Alicante and Murcia: "Civil Guard operation in Alicante and Murcia has arrested 8 members of an organisation which brought Romanian women into the country illegally and forced them to work as prostitutes. The women were put to work on the roadside in Torrevieja and Orihuela.
The detainees are 5 suspects from Romania, 2 from Albania and an eighth who is from Morocco.
The Civil Guard said in a press release on Tuesday that investigations began in October 2009 into a gang of Albanian criminals known to have been previously involved in organised burglary and which was believed to now be involved in sexual exploitation."
