The man who was the chauffeur for the ex General Director for Employment in the Junta de Andalucía, Javier Guerrero, declared before judge Alaya on Tuesday as part of the instruction of the ERE fraudulent payments scandal. Juan Francisco Trujillo Blanco told the court that he consumed cocaine at any time of the day, and that he purchased the drug every three or four days. He said he would spend 25,000 € a month on cocaine for his own use and that of his boss. The chauffer added that Javier Guerrero moved his office to drinking bars in the afternoon having first having lunch in a restaurant. Trujillo admitted creating fictitious companies which Guerrero subsidised, spending some of the grant money on cocaine for himself and his boss. He admitted that in 2004 he received two grants from the General Direction of Employment and Social Security for 450,000 € each one, with the object of creating a furniture business and a business assessment company, and another for Lógica Estratégica Empresarial S.L. which created business from the rural homes in the Sierra de Andújar. He said part of the grant money went to the intended projects but the rest of the money, he could not remember an exact amount, ‘I gave in cash to my boss, Francisco Javier Guerrero’. Trujillo also said he had to drive to Madrid on two occasions ‘for money in envelopes’. The driver ratified that he could not attend official meetings, but he would go off drinking with his boss and then he would drive him home to his house in El Pedroso, Sevilla. After hearing his statement the Judge ordered prison without bail for the chauffer.
