There is change in the air! According to a recent announcement by municipal delegates, Puerto Banus, Nueva Andalucia, and Baldomero Leon, will get the much needed facelift in terms of infrastructural development. The delegates made this announcement at the Marbella Town Hall and added that as many as 30 projects will be initiated. These projects are aimed at improving upon the existing infrastructure, equipment, as well as the general maintenance in public areas. These projects have already received the approval of the residents’ associations in the mentioned areas.The improvement of the Paseo Maritimo between Rio Guadaiza and Rio Verde is being looked at as one of the most important projects of 2010. It is slated for completion by the end of 2010. Some of the other important projects in the pipeline include council houses, new nursery, partial paving of the Avenida de los Girasoles, Bridge over Rio Verde, resurfacing of the Carril de Lorcrimar, a new bridge over the Guadaiza River, improvement of the Carril del Potril, and the opening of La Campana park.
The council has unveiled its plans for continuing the renewal of urban furniture as well as their endeavor to improve lighting and paving in areas like Avenida del Prado and Calle Real. A multiple-use hall is also on the list of initiatives for 2010 followed by a civic and cultural centre, as well as the refurbishment of the existing Youth Centre. Some of the other projects include ecological islands in Avenida Julio Iglesias, cleaning the path at the Lago de las Tortugas, the improvement of drainage system on the Levante beach, and much more.
