A small patera boat carrying 52 immigrants was intercepted today

 Saturday when close to Tarifa. It was carrying 15 men, 24 women, two of them pregnant and 13 children. All were of Sub-Saharan origin.

Emergency service 112 was alerted at 8.41am by one of the passengers on the patera, and they called Civil Protection, the Guadia Civil, Red Cross, National Police and health services.

The boat was escorted into Tafira port where the Red Cross said some of them were showing symptoms of hypothermia and dehydration.
