It would appear that Spain’s ‘National Fiesta’ or bullfighting will not be making a return to TVE State Television. 

There was a meeting on Wednesday of the Administration Council which heard a report which had been requested from the corporation’s judicial services on the broadcasting of bullfighting on the state channel. 

Debate arose when all references to bullfighting were removed from the station style sheet, and the judicial report now presented has warned the broadcaster that bullfighting on TV would clash with the children’s hour. 

The law says that contents showing violence to animals must not be broadcast to children.
The law being so, the Council decided not to take any action on the matter, and so there will be no broadcasts as is the case now.
