The Spanish government has decided to cut the air traffic controllers pay, which experts believe might lead to travel misery for those heading out for holidays in Spain. The Spanish government deciding upon this sudden move to slash salaries after they realized that some of the air controllers were taking home a whopping £800,000 annually.
Holiday planners are wondering where this will really leave them.

The news has spread like wild fire and experts from the travel industry feel that this might well bring forth a summer of misery and discontent and in all probability will lead to several strikes as well as delays. The fact is that air traffic controllers have staged protests and strikes in the past as well, which have created a chaotic situation for holiday travelers to and from Spain. Such strikes and delays will have a catastrophic effect on the tourism industry in Spain this summer.Jose Blanco, Development Minister in Spanish parliament has issued a statement saying that there will be a severe slashing of high wages and this will amount to slashing of £11million from the paychecks of air traffic controllers. He also said, "I have taken the decision to take the bull by the horns and end the privileges of these controllers."Last month, due to staff shortages, passengers borne the brunt of long delays in Canary Island but if the air traffic controllers go on strike then it will be a worst case scenario
