British thief who fled to Spain gets a six year prison sentence

Wayne Lee Underwood appeared in Leicester Crown Court on Friday

We reported last May that a man from Leicester had been arrested in Tortosa, Tarragona, on a search and capture order after he jumped bail in the U.K.

Now Leicestershire Constabulary reports that 41 year old Wayne Lee Underwood, from Hincote, Leicester pleaded guilty in court on Friday to six counts of burglary. He was handed down a 6 year 8 month prison sentence.

Underwood was one of the 14 men who stole from cash machines in shops across the U.K. 13 members of the gang were sentenced to more than 70 years in prison in November 2009."
